Wetwerks
Wetwerks Auto Spa
Wetwerks Auto Spa is a detail and cosmetic shop that specializes in paint correction and protection, mainly catering to customers with high end vehicles. Because Wetwerks’ services are aesthetics-based, they rely primarily on photography to showcase their work. Their main work area also doubles as their photography studio, so it is imperative that they have an appealing space for both photoshoots and in-person visits with customers. Their space was previously raw drywall - unattractive and difficult to keep out of photos.
This three storey tall design we created is pattern based, featuring interwoven race tracks from around the world. Tracks were chosen because they create an abstract but unique pattern - when a customer’s car is photographed, the reflection in the paint acts as an ownable brand impression, innately connected to Wetwerks. The mural also strictly adheres to the brand, including matching the colour palette and typeface. Forced perspective was applied to the type, so that when a customer enters the main door, the type appears to be floating. The illusion of translucency was employed on the blue parallelogram by painting the tracks in blue and the type in purple within the form. Finally, a poster is installed nearby, denoting not only which of the world’s race tracks are in the mural, but also their length and the country they’re from.
