Focus

The intent when installing this piece was to simulate a word that is out of focus outside the translucent box, but in focus inside the shape (so the shape acts as a lens). The letters were first planned out using tape to maintain equal size and spacing, and then dusted in using spray paint. The box was then filled in with house paint, and a shadow was added to create depth and ground it on the wall it sits on.

The name ‘Tychon’ is the brand I’ve created specifically for my mural work. In Greek, the word Tychon has two meanings – it means both ‘hitting the mark’ and ‘producer’.
