I had a specific vision in mind for this piece – I wanted very clean, minimal calligraphy with one element that was completely chaotic and full of colour. This was executed by applying a primary blue base coat to the surface, and then throwing bright yellow and red on top to create a loud pattern with plenty of splashes and drips. Following that, the calligraphy was sketched out and filled in with two coats of white paint to ensure full opacity. Light grey spray paint was also used to define some of the letters’ lost edges, ensuring legibility was retained. This piece was challenging because of the nature of the coloured areas; mistakes couldn’t be made with the white because the colourful splashes and drips couldn’t be corrected.

The name ‘Tychon’ is the brand I’ve created specifically for my mural work. In Greek, the word Tychon has two meanings – it means both ‘hitting the mark’ and ‘producer’.
