Van Dent Pro is an automotive repair shop that specializes in reversing accident damage without the need for painting, a unique industry that demands huge amounts of talent and experience from its craftsmen. The owner of this shop has an excellent portfolio and is highly skilled, but was struggling to make his physical location easily identifiable. This was due to the shop being tucked at the back of an industrial complex, not to mention the fact that it had a misleading green chair painted on its face (left behind by the previous tenants).
A bold, hardworking mural was the perfect remedy for these challenges. We opted to employ bright, eye-catching strips of colour to ensure the business would be easily identifiable from the street. These strips are designed to emulate layers – a nod to the paintless dent repair process, referencing all the layers that need to be worked through when repairing a car body. The wordmark is intended to really pop. Sitting in a white container, it jumps off the colours and black background behind it. It’s intended to maintain legibility from a distance, but still has some personality, with the counters removed and the shadow effect (also contributing to the illusion of the wordmark lifting off the wall).
The combination of eye catching colours and patterns, paired with a hardworking but personal wordmark ensures this shop can’t be missed, no matter how tucked away it may be.
